Advanced knowledge of saddle fit has now been proven necessary for maximum performance and comfort of both horse and rider.
Griffin Saddle Solutions offers you a systematic approach to saddlefit using our five essential step process.
Step One - Horse Assessment
The horse is assessed and measured for symmetry of musculature, skeletal alignment and posture. Palpation tests for pain responses are included in this step.
Step Two - Saddle Assessment
The saddle is extensively examined and assessed off the horse.
Step Three - Saddle Assessent - on the Horse
The horse and saddle are assessed together for suitability. The horse is led saddled on both reins, in straight lines, on bends and sharp turns and may also be lunged.
Step Four - Saddle & Rider Assessment
The rider is assessed both off and on the horse for posture, balance, suitability of saddle and symmetry.
Step Five - Ridden Assessment
The horse is ridden 15 - 20 minutes at all paces to assess horse, rider and saddle. A pressure point test is conducted during this time.
Recommendations and a written report are provided for all assessments.
