Massage Course Testimonials
Very enjoyable workshop with lots to take in and absorb. 2003
N.W.

Great course, easy to follow and understand as well as an excellent resource to take home for the future. I learnt so much about the basic structures and muscle that will not only help for massage, but also in my riding and understanding of how my horses move. Thankyou! 2006

Well organised, well presented and value for money. 2007

Di's workshops are a great experience as she is a very engaging teacher who is only too willing to share her vast knowledge. Massage cannot be learned from a book - she guides her students to develop a feel for their horses and any changes that may be obvious (or not so obvious). I have certainly developed a different feel for my horses and am now better equipped to assess their state of (muscular) well being and nip problems in the bud. I recommend the workshops to my (riding) pupils so that they can develop a better feel for their horses. 2002

I registered for the first workshop as my horse loved being massaged so much and I wanted to learn how to do it. In the back of my mind I thought I'd quite like to be an equine body worker so was interested in seeing what it would be like. I took my own horse and it was great being with him, but he didn't seem to like my technique. He wanted Di to massage him! When I left, I felt that it was a great bonding experience for us but figured I just didn't have the 'knack'. I was also quite physically tired! I had already registered for the second workshop so went along with my horse the following week, even though I didn't expect to get much out of it except the experience. I studied the anatomy notes and did some stretching to prepare myself. Early in the day, I discovered the technique & pressure I'd used the week before was tickling my horse and once I got the hang of it he really enjoyed it (so did I). I felt that I really knew my horse's anatomy by the end of the workshop and felt much more confident in myself. I practiced a little over the following months and reviewed my notes and charts a few times. I found the anatomy study very interesting and some time after the second workshop I began thinking more and more how I'd like to work in this field. I decided to review the notes and started reading more about related topics. Having just completed workshop 3 I am sure this is the direction I wish to take and have begun preparing for the Equinology course. There is a lot of prior knowledge required for that course and Di's workshops are a great way of gaining an insight into the field as well as providing a foundation for further study. They are also very conveniently presented out of normal office hours and having completed the workshops, I think I will have an advantage in my further study. Having completed Equine Massage levels 1-3, I have been using the techniques on my horses now for several years. All of them love being worked on and we all notice the difference in their performance, agility and happiness after all their aches and pains are taken away! I highly recommend the workshops for any horse owner.

Di Jenkins is a brilliant equine therapist who has helped make such a difference to my horse's well being. When I heard she was running equine massage workshops, I jumped at the chance and attended the first two workshops. They involved both theoretical and hands on material which where presented in a simple but thorough manner. Di's understanding and care towards horses inspired me to become a qualified therapist with her workshops giving me a head start in undertaking the course. After completion of my certification I attended workshop three as a refresher and was impressed that it covered new material that the professional course hadn't. 2002

Having bought our first horse with a shoulder injury and a slightly turned in front left foot, I had Di work on him to help him feel more comfortable as he was prone to throwing the odd wobbly. Each time he had a session with Di, he improved. When the opportunity arose to do one of Di's equine massage workshops, I booked straight in. We now have 3 horses, and it is certainly a benefit to be able to tell if there is an "issue" with them or not, and work on it myself. I enjoyed the first workshop so much, I immediately booked in for the second one. It's a a great feeling to give my horses a little TLC when they need it. 2002

Thankyou. I feel that I understand more of the signals my horse is sending me. Exceeded my expectations. Made a difference to my contact and bonding almost immediately. 2003

Dianne’s knowledge and enthusiasm carry through the workshop & make the learning process enjoyable and easy. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in Equine Massage or just finding another way to build a relationship with their horse. Good combination of lecture and hands-on work. 2003

Very enjoyable, and informative. Straight to the point 2004

Workbooks are very good. Great reference for the future. 2004

General practices and ‘golden rules’ for racing industry have been shown to be mostly wrong and misguided. Most trainers would not have the knowledge taught in this workshop nor would most of them be accepting of what has been taught. Good practical stuff we can use on our own horses straight away. Great examples of simple effective treatments to help your horse perform. This has really opened a door for me. 2004

EVERY horseman and rider should know what is taught in these workshops, not just aspiring therapists. My horses and I will definitely benefit a great deal from what I’ve learnt in just 3 days. Thanks Di. 2004

Di is very easy to understand. Good combination of layman and text book terms. After the course I did a sinus drain on a friends galloway ‘who never gets colds’. You should have seen the gunk coming out the next day. Superb. Really did fit a lot into the days without becoming overwhelming. Coloured in horse was brilliant. 2005
Jacqui Smith

A lot of hands on work. The 2nd day, revising what we were taught the 1st day and learning more in the process made it easy to remember. Stretch exercises are very effective to me so was really appreciated. I really have enjoyed the mix of both massage and exercises. The combination is just brilliant. Will come in very handy for me. Thankyou. 2006

Very well organised content, presentation and notes. 2007

The materials were excellent, the timing of the day, the content, all met my needs and expectations. Great value for money. 2007

Great to have both verbal and visual demonstrations at the same time, just before we then went onto the horses to do it ourselves. This Workshop has certainly given me some tools to use on my own horses, to be better able to understand and communicate with them, and to help them reach their potential. I enjoyed that we only covered a few things at a time so we had a chance to have a go ourselves before moving onto the next step. 2007

Easy to follow, conversational style of Di's is great! Her examples reinforce the information. Di builds one's confidence! Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm, passion, expertise and time. A wonderful introduction which gave me elementary skills to take home and practise. Works well learning the red light therapy as well. Easy to read and comprehend considering the material covered. Clear instructions to reinforce the practical component. 2007

An interactive, flexible and informative course 2007
Barbara Gibb

I am very glad I attended your courses. Whilst I don't tend to use the massage techniques a lot I find that I am now so much more aware of when something is not right and if a horse might need help. I was a little clueless before and tended to put too much down to behaviour and respect issues than discomfort or pain. 2006
Kirsten Baker

Just a quick note of thanks yet again. I have tried the pre-comp massage twice this week and Jethro feels so alive now. The first time I rode him, walked for fifteen minutes, long rein trot for another ten then unsaddled him and did the massage. Today I warmed him up with some ground work then did the massage. Both ways worked well. If I had been at the comp today we would have been ready to enter the arena ten minutes after I mounted. It really is easier on the horse (and the rider). Particularly when you're riding a horse that is not quite fit. I now have a clear warm-up plan for Sunday that won't involve a long, tedious, mind numbing ride. Thank you once again and I'll let you know how we go on Sunday. 2006
Lyn Clancy

Apart from the massage and anatomy knowledge I gained, I feel I have also improved my horsemanship skills. By day 2 & 3 I felt much more confident and better able to read the horse’s happy and grumpy signs. 2008
Ali Russell

A great introduction! Comprehensive enough to make a difference yet simple enough for a lay person to get the hang of! 2008
Lindy Read

The pre reading material gave me chance to see what was expected on course and a chance to educate myself first. Good sections, comprehensive explanations and very good visual aids. Pace and clarity of information made it a very high standard. Very approachable educator that made sure concepts were understood. Gave me an insight into massage therapy and direction for professional education. 2009

Di’s course is just amazing! You can see & feel the difference in the horse as you go. It gives you a completely different way of communication with your horse! So much information and hands on experience, real value for money. The painted horse was very good. 2008
Morgan Burgess

More than met my needs and expectations, Easy to understand, excellent presentation, generally an excellent course with so much extra information that was not even in the notes. Great help for my dressage horses. 2008
Petra Fleisher

I would recommend this course to anyone who is considering doing a higher level massage or anatomy course. This is an excellent introductory course. A good variety of hands on work and theory. 2007
Debbie Johnston

This course was fantastic. I learnt so much in the 3 days my brain is swimming and I now realize I need more hours in the day to be able to practice practise practice! 2009
